I am morally opposed to paying 16 dollars to chat when I could just call someone (it's a phone!). That said , that is a slick piece of software and I am sorely tempted.

I recently gave this app a go as well and I'm really impressed. I'm waiting for proper push notifications from Apple, but the email solution works pretty damn well if you are using a push email service.

As far as the actual app goes, it's highly customizable but not confusing. A lot of UI designers tend to have a hard time balancing the two, but BeeJiveIM is super easy to pick up, get online, but do it the way you want.

I guess the only issue that I can see folks having is the price tag. I mean $16 is a lot if you don't plan on chatting a lot. But if you are on even every once in a while, it's a pretty solid option. Easily the best in class.
